Emma Neal is in her 2nd year Coaching Cheer & Dance at Cottey College
Coach Neal brings a diverse approach of experience to Cottey. Gurien is currently in her second year as Head Coach for the competitive cheer and dance teams.
Coach Neal was a Division 1 competitive cheerleader at the University of Memphis where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with minors in Child Development and Healthcare in the Society. Gurien then went on to earn a Master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology through Springfield College in Massachusetts. Through her Master’s degree, Coach Neal is a Mental Performance Coach who works with athletes to develop increased mental toughness and overall well-being in sport and life. Neal is currently working towards her Certification of becoming a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC).
Coach Neal has experience in teaching youth gymnastics and tumbling classes as well as doing volunteer coaching with youth and high school level cheer teams.
