The Cottey College Softball team had their season come to an end last night against Rio Grande in the NAIA Softball Opening Round. This marks the second straight year that the Comets have made it to the Opening Round. They finish 30-17 on the year. The team would finish 9-0 in conference play this season and second overall in the Continental Athletic Conference Tournament. The Comets also finished 15-0 at home, making it one of the toughest places to play in the country. Cottey was among NAIA's best when it came to batting. They hit 110 doubles (4th best in the nation) and 42 home runs (15th in the country). 

The Comets would be well represented on the CAC All-Conference Team with 6 individuals.
