Cottey College Softball is proud to announce the hiring of Karina Ramirez as the program's newest assistant coach. A decorated alumna and record-setting athlete, Ramirez returns to the Comets with a legacy of excellence and a passion for mentoring the next generation.
A native of Buckeye, Arizona, Ramirez graduated from Cottey College in 2024 with a bachelors degree in Psychology and is currently completing her masters degree through Friends University. Her impact on the field is etched in Cottey history: she holds program records as the all-time leader in hits, runs scored, and stolen bases. Ramirez was instrumental in guiding the Comets to back-to-back conference championships in 2023 and 2024, and played a key role in four consecutive NAIA National Tournament Opening Round appearances.
Ramirez's collegiate career was marked by consistent performance and leadership. Over four seasons, she posted a .376 batting average, tallying 193 hits, 25 doubles, three home runs, and 124 stolen bases. Her accolades include:

Ramirez most recently served on the coaching staff at Ottawa University, bringing valuable experience and insight to her new role at Cottey.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to now pour my passion, drive, and dedication into our athletes so they can create their own legacies within this program."
