3-Point Barrage Sinks Comets

Cottey's road trip hit a wall against a red-hot Mid-America Christian Universiry squad, falling 84-36.  From the opening tip, the Comets couldn't catch a break as Mid-America Christian  was on fire, knocking down 47% of their shots from the field and an astonishing 53% from beyond the arc.

"It felt like the basket was as big as the ocean tonight," said Eatman. "Every shot they took just seemed to go in."

Despite the scoreboard, Cottey had a few sparks of their own. Gabby Burrus poured in a team-high 13 points, while Nevaeh Sanchez led the team in rebounding with five. The Comets also welcomed back seniors AuShae Farris and Sadie Hubbard to the floor after being sidelined for three weeks with injuries.

Eatman called for a quick reset. "Tomorrow, we have to do a better job defending the three-point line and locking down our transition defense. Nelson will test us again, and we need to be ready. I am looking forward to Shae and Sadie working their way back into game shape."

The Comets now turn their focus to bouncing back tomorrow at noon against Nelson
