Cottey College's women's bowling team took to the lanes with determination at the latest invitational, competing against strong programs including Calumet College of St. Joseph, Clarke University, College of Lake County, and College of Saint Mary. While the overall team totals placed Cottey behind the leaders, individual performances highlighted the team's potential and resilience.
Leading the way for Cottey was Kristina Holcomb, who delivered a standout five-game series totaling 852 pins, averaging an impressive 170.4. Megan McNeil followed closely with a consistent performance across all games, finishing with a 795 series and a 159 average. Mercedes Wilkins contributed 534 pins over four games, while Danielle Beauregard added 504 pins in her four-game effort. Elizabeth Loveless and Haiden Kopp rounded out the team's scoring with 394 and 387 respectively, each showing flashes of promise in their limited appearances.
Cottey's team total across the five games was 3466, with several bowlers missing games due to rotation or availability. Despite the challenges, the team maintained a positive attitude and gained valuable experience against high-caliber competition. Clarke University led the tournament with a team total of 4344, powered by Mia Losee's dominant 949 series and 189.8 average.
