Cottey College's women's golf team closed out its fall invitational with determined play and steady improvement across the board. Competing against a deep field of regional programs, the Comets were led by Allyssa Crutcher, who finished tied for 12th with a two-round total of +38. Crutcher's second-round bounce-back highlighted her consistency and competitive edge.
Audrey Robison followed with a +68 finish, improving her score by 10 strokes in the second round. Vanessa Nail rounded out Cottey's trio with a +74 total, showing resilience throughout both rounds.
Evangel University's Catherine Rhoads claimed the individual title with a +12 finish, followed by Victoria Hofmann of Friends University at +14. A three-way tie for third featured Savanna Nickum (Kansas Wesleyan), Lauren Kelly (Southwestern KS), and Lindsay McBride (Friends), all finishing at +22.
While Cottey didn't recrod a team score, the team's effort and growth were evident. With Crutcher's top-15 finish and Robison and Nail gaining valuable experience, the Comets continue to build momentum heading into the spring season. The invitational served as a valuable benchmark for the team's development and competitive spirit.
