Cottey College's women's golf team showcased resilience and determination at the 2025 Eagle Knoll Invite, hosted by William Woods University in Ashland, Missouri. Competing as individuals in a deep field of 37 players, the Comets made their presence known with a trio of golfers grinding through two challenging rounds on the par-72 Eagle Knoll Golf Course.
Comet Performances
-
Allyssa Crutcher led the Cottey contingent, finishing 20th overall with rounds of 91 and 100 for a +47 total. Her opening round 91 was a strong start that kept her in the top half of the leaderboard. Crutcher also carded her first Birdie of her collegiate career.
-
Audrey Robison followed closely behind, carding rounds of 103 and 104 to finish at +63. Her consistency across both days demonstrated poise under pressure.
-
Vanessa Nail rounded out the Cottey trio, improving in her second round with a 37-over-par after a tough opening day, finishing at +81. Nail was the first Comet to record a Birdie this season when she hit a beatiful tee shot on the #2 Par 3, sinking a birdie putt from about 9 feet away.
Building Momentum
While the leaderboard was topped by Lincoln University's Divya Gunasegar at +14, Cottey's golfers gained valuable experience and showed steady improvement throughout the tournament. The Comets' participation in a competitive field featuring teams from across the region reflects their commitment to growth and development.
With each round, Cottey's golfers continue to sharpen their skills and build confidence for the remainder of the fall season. Their performance at Eagle Knoll is a testament to their work ethic and team spirit.
