The Cottey College women's track & field team delivered one of its strongest conference performances in program history at the 2026 AMC Indoor Championships, claiming five individual event titles and two relay championships. Behind a powerhouse distance squad and clutch performances across multiple events, the Comets firmly established themselves as one of the premier women's programs in the AMC.
Cottey's champions included Madalenn Fee, Kate Soukup, Avery Morris, and the 4x400m and 4x800m relay teams — a sweeping display of depth, poise, and competitive maturity.
COTTEY EVENT CHAMPIONS
600-Meter Run – Madalenn Fee (1:39.77)
Fee opened her championship campaign with a commanding win in the 600m, using her trademark strength over the final lap to pull away from the field. Her time of 1:39.77 was the class of the conference and set the tone for a historic day.
800-Meter Run – Kate Soukup (2:23.26)
Soukup delivered a composed, tactical race to secure the AMC title in the 800m. Her decisive move over the final 200 meters sealed the victory and added another middle‑distance crown to Cottey's growing résumé.
1000-Meter Run – Madalenn Fee (3:28.80)
Fee doubled back with another championship performance, controlling the race from the gun and powering to a 3:28.80 finish. The win marked her second individual title of the meet and showcased her unmatched versatility across middle‑distance events.
Mile – Madalenn Fee (5:17.23)
Fee completed her triple‑crown performance with a dominant win in the mile, pulling away in the final laps to secure her third individual AMC championship of the day. Her endurance, race IQ, and competitive fire were on full display.
3000-Meter Run – Avery Morris (11:25.69)
Morris delivered one of the meet's grittiest performances, surging late to claim the AMC title in the 3000m. Her closing laps broke open a tight race and earned Cottey another gold in the distance ranks.

4x400-Meter Relay – Mick, Fee, Johnson, Hayduk (4:10.96)
