The Comets faced a tough challenge, falling to McPherson by a score of 77–47. Despite the setback, the Comets showed heart and fight until the final buzzer.
Andrea Aragon led the Comets with 14 points, while Riley Essenpries added 10.
Coach Eatman was direct in his postgame message: "We did not get better today," he said. "But if you're raised the right way, and if you've got the right stuff inside, you go right back to work. Our focus must be to improve in the areas that have hurt us this season—free throw shooting, defensive rebounding, and taking care of the basketball."
Eatman also emphasized the importance of respecting the opponent. "Any time you lose, you pay respect to your opponent," he noted. "They did a great job of being efficient in every phase of the game today."
The message to the team was clear: progress comes step by step. "No one person is going to save us, and there are no 15-point plays," Eatman said. "It's one step at a time."
The Comets will look to bounce back next weekend as they head to the Mid-America University Classic on Friday and Saturday.
