Comets Fall to CBC at Home

Comets Fall to CBC at Home

Senior Day at Cottey College carried all the emotion, gratitude, and pride you'd expect, and the Comets' three honorees—AuShae Farris, Andrea Aragon, and Sadie Hubbard—rose to the moment with performances that reflected their leadership and impact on the program. Though Central Baptist escaped with a 71–62 win, the afternoon belonged to Cottey's seniors and the legacy they've built.

A Battle From Start to Finish

Cottey stayed within striking distance all afternoon, matching Central Baptist's physicality and answering every push with one of their own. The Comets trailed by just two at halftime and entered the fourth quarter down only 50–47, but a late Mustang surge proved to be the difference.

Despite the final score, Cottey's effort was anchored by its seniors—each delivering a signature contribution that reminded everyone why they've meant so much to the program.

Senior Spotlights

AuShae Farris

AuShae closed out her Senior Day with 9 points, knocking down a three and going a perfect 4-for-4 at the line. She provided her trademark calm presence, helping settle the offense during key stretches and giving Cottey timely buckets when they needed them most. Her poise and leadership were unmistakable—exactly what she's brought to the program throughout her career.

Andrea Aragon

Andrea delivered one of the grittiest performances of the afternoon, finishing with 6 rebounds, 4 points, and strong interior defense. She battled on the glass all game, keeping possessions alive and absorbing contact in the paint. Her toughness has been a defining trait for Cottey, and she put it on full display one more time in front of the home crowd.

Sadie Hubbard

Sadie was outstanding, scoring 7 points on a perfect 3-for-3 shooting day, adding 3 steals, 3 blocks, and an assist. She was everywhere defensively—jumping passing lanes, protecting the rim, and sparking transition chances. Her energy shifted momentum multiple times, and her versatility was one of the brightest spots of the game.
