Cottey College's volleyball program has once again proven that excellence isn't confined to the court. The team was honored with the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award, a recognition presented by the American Volleyball Coaches Association to programs that maintain a year-long team GPA of 3.30 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

This accolade highlights the Comets' commitment to academic achievement alongside athletic performance. The award celebrates programs that prioritize student success, and Cottey's inclusion among the record-breaking 1,450 teams honored this year underscores the team's dedication to balancing rigorous coursework with competitive play.

The AVCA Team Academic Award has been a benchmark of scholastic excellence since its inception in 1992–93. Cottey's volleyball team joins a distinguished list of recipients from across collegiate divisions, showcasing the school's holistic approach to student-athlete development.
